Copaiba oil is derived from a copaiba tree found in South America. Since the 16th century, copaiba has been utilized in traditional health practices by the natives of Brazil. This tree oil is widely used in cosmetic products, e.g., soaps, creams, lotions, and perfumes. Copaiba is considered a cannabis tree, however, it does not contain psychoactive cannabinoids. Its main component, caryophyllene, is thought to be considered a neuroprotector. Along with is neurological health benefit, copaiba can be used to soothe anxious feelings, promote clear, smooth complexion when applied to skin, and support cardiovascular, immune, digestive, and respiratory health. In regards to immune health, copaiba is considered an antioxidant.
